We live in a world where data is evermore abundant and computation cheaper. Process systems engineering provides a framework to integrate disparate data streams and prior information into unified frameworks and subsequently make informed decisions. We use both mechanistic and data-driven models to improve understanding of biology, pharmacology, and medicine and provide actionable strategies for improving these processes. Current application areas focus on pediatric cardiac monitoring and modeling cellular pathways that contribute to heart and heart valve disease. Previous applications have focuses on fault detection in insulin infusion pumps and informing diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder with plasma metabolites.
